There is something special about writing a letter. In a world where most of our thoughts are shared in an instant, taking the time to put words on paper feels slower, more intentional, and personal.
My love for letter writing began in elementary school when I participated in a pen pal program. I remember the excitement of writing to someone I had never met and waiting for a reply. When those letters arrived, I loved discovering little glimpses of another person’s life and personality through their words.
As I grew older, I began writing letters to friends as well, even when we saw each other every day. Whether the letters were long or short, joyful or difficult, handwritten words always felt more intimate to me. There was something meaningful about knowing that someone had taken the time to sit down, gather their thoughts, and write them specifically for you.
What I have always loved most about letters is the honesty they can hold. They create a small space where we can slow down, express what we may struggle to say aloud, and allow ourselves to be vulnerable. There is something equally meaningful about receiving that vulnerability in return. For a moment, it feels like a conversation belonging only to two people.
That is the spirit behind this writing challenge. Each letter explores a different person, feeling, experience, or part of life. Some may carry gratitude, others may hold regret, healing, longing, or reflection. Together, they are an opportunity to revisit the past, acknowledge the present, and perhaps find a little closure along the way.

November is a time to pause and appreciate the many things that shape our lives.
The lessons we have learned, the happiness we have experienced, the people we have loved, and even the challenges that have changed us.
Some people leave lasting impressions on who we become, whether they remain in our lives or become part of our past. These letters are a way of acknowledging those connections, reflecting on the experiences that shaped us, and appreciating the pieces of each season that we carry forward.
I hope these letters encourage you to slow down, reflect honestly, and perhaps put into words something your heart has been waiting to say.
