“A life without risk is a life unlived, my friend.” – Kendall, Big Time Rush
And opportunities are essentially risks that we choose to take in life, especially if we’re doing them to be one step closer to our goals. Most opportunities only come once in a lifetime, whereas some return when they feel you are ready to accept them.
“Opportunities don’t happen. You create them.” – Chris Grosser
Opportunities help lead us out of our comfort zone. They help push our potential to the highest limit and show us the power and passion behind all of our doubts, worries, and insecurities.
“Opportunities don’t often come along. So, when they do, you have to grab them.”
– Audrey Hepburn
We may not understand what certain opportunities would mean for us. We may not know how to even begin searching for those opportunities; but if we don’t take the initiative, we may never experience the blessings or lessons waiting for us.
“In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity.” – Albert Einstein
For years, I waited for opportunities to come to me instead of going after them myself. I thought that if I was worthy of such success, they would just show up at my doorstep, but I was wrong. Yes, the universe has paved ways for opportunities to be available for us, but it won’t be given to us on a silver platter.
“Creating opportunities means looking where others are not.” – Mark Cuban
We obtain many things in life because we wanted them, so in order for opportunities to come to us, we have to first show that we want them to come. And sitting down, simply waiting for them to make the first move isn’t calling them in and telling them we’re open to receiving them.
“Behind me is infinite power, before me is endless possibility, around me is boundless opportunity.” – Mac Anderson
I am also not saying that opportunities will come right away. Wanting them does not equate to a direct yes. We have to work hard for them. And not just physically work for them. Our souls and hearts must genuinely call out for such an opportunity and to have faith in achieving them with good intentions.
While we work hard for what we want, we must learn to also accept how they come to us, if they come to us. We must let go of control towards the outcome.
“Turn your obstacles into opportunities and your problems into possibilities.” – Roy T. Bennett
We must let things flow.
We must remain open to any and all possibilities that may show up on our doorstep.
We must remember all of the simplest opportunities we’ve already accomplished and continue to achieve.
The opportunity to go out for a morning walk, to cook and eat a delicious meal, to rescue an animal from the shelter, to exercise, to own a laptop and other technological devices – the list is infinite.
“Life opens up opportunities to you, and you either take them or you stay afraid of taking them.” – Jim Carrey
And, when the opportunity arrives, we still have the freedom on whether to accept them or not.
Whatever decision we make, I believe that we made that decision for a reason and it is the right one to make at that moment in time.
But, for anyone waiting for opportunities right now, please go out there and create the opportunities you want to achieve.
Life really is too short to sit around and wander only in your head.
“When one door closes, another opens, but we often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the one which has opened for us.” – A. Bell
