Mom and Dad,
I’ve always believed in luck, and it was my luck that I was born to the loving and supportive parents you both are.
Thank you for everything you’ve done for me. Thank you for everything you’ve given me. To you, it may not be a lot, but to me, it was as if I was given the entire world.
This world consists of an infinite amount of support, healing, and love.
Thank you for all your hard work and overtime to put food on the table, and get me new clothes, school supplies, and a roof over our heads. And even with your busy schedules, you’ve always made time for major events in my life – whether it was teaching me how to ride a bike or attending Family Fun Days at school, I was always elated to see you celebrating these with me.
Thank you for believing in me even when I was struggling to believe in myself. Whenever I’m thinking too much about things that are worrying me, and you’d notice, you’d always assure me that “you can do it” and that single sentence has always been a major force in me pushing through the dark clouds. After all, all you need is one person believing in you for you to achieve more than your greatest potential, and thankfully, I have two of the most important people in my life believing in me with all their heart and soul.
Thank you for supporting me in the career direction I chose. I understand it’s very unorthodox of me to enter this field, especially in our family, and that you’ve had your doubts, but you supported me all this time and I’m very grateful to have you by my side through this journey. Thank you for trusting me and my decisions when it comes to what I want to do in life. I guess with us, mom, being stubborn and hard-headed, you already know that once our minds are made up, it’s difficult to persuade.
Dad, my protector. Thank you for being my safe place. Thank you for being the comedian in the family and easily putting a smile on our faces. Thank you for being my emotional support and giving me advice whenever I’m feeling down. Thank you for always having my back while keeping your best interest for me at heart.
Mom, my strength. Thank you for giving me the courage and strong will. Thank you for all of your guidance and voice of reason, especially during the times I felt like my world was falling apart. Thank you for being the fire that fuels me and doing my very best to do everything I set my heart to. Thank you for always encouraging me to follow my heart.
I love you, mom and dad.
You’ve done so much for me, and it’s time for me to give you more than what you’ve done for me.
I promise that you get to enjoy these following years relaxing, exploring the world with me, catching up with family you haven’t physically seen in years, and pursuing the dreams you were always passionate about.
I pinky promise that we won’t be apart for as long as we previously had, and I’ll do everything to spend as much time as I can with you.
I pinky promise to give you everything you deserve.
