Dear Dad

Hi pa,

Words will never be enough to express how grateful I am to have you as a father. Throughout my entire life, you have always been my knight in shining armor. You have always made me feel safe and secure. You fought my battles with me. You raised me to be the strong person I am today.

Dad, you deserve all the praise in the world. You deserve all of the love and happiness that bring you peace and harmony. You deserve an infinite number of blessings for being one heck of a father.

If there’s one piece of advice I value the most from you, it is that you tell me to be strong. No matter how hard things get or how many times I fail at something, you remind me that it’s okay and to keep going. “That’s life,” as you’d mention.

All of the sacrifices you endured were to make sure that I was living a life you never got to live. All those long hours at work were not to abandon me, but to put food on the table and get me clothes to wear. You’d make sure to get hours off just so you can attend my birthdays, special school events, and my graduations. It took me a while to realize that what felt like you were putting me second in your life was actually placing me before you.

There’s no such thing as a perfect father, but you were the perfect father for me. You’ve always been so patient with me. You always figure out what’s bothering me, and then you’d know what to say to make me smile again. You were always supportive of my dreams and goals and would boost my confidence to achieve them.

You are not just a father; you are the jack of all trades, and I’m so proud to call you my dad. Your ability to learn new skills and gain more knowledge quickly and effortlessly inspires me to be someone like you. You find interest even in the smallest things, and I love seeing you get so excited to share them with me. You are one of the most hardworking people I know. Everything you set your mind to, you go above and beyond what was set out for it.

Pa, thank you for taking care of mom and me. Thank you for all of your hardships and challenges. Thank you for staying strong and being healthy. Also, thank you for your mistakes. Thank you for your lessons. Thank you for giving me the best life I could ever live. Out of the millions of fathers out there, you are the one who’s meant to be mine. You’re the one who carried me on your shoulders. You scared away the monsters. Eventually, you taught me to stand on my own two feet. You taught me to try and try again. You taught me to use my voice.

You’ll always be the first and last man I will have ever loved and cherished.

You’re my hero, dad.

I love you.

Sincerely,

Your Daughter

Keep being inspired and take care always,
