My Evening Routine

It seems like only yesterday I was writing about my morning routine, and now I’m going to be revealing my evening routine.

But to be honest, I don’t really have a routine for the evening because I just don’t really do much …at least for now.

I used to be the type where my brain would simply not want to work after 7 PM, so I’d end up not working after that time. And then I’d wake up around 4 AM to start my work and go on with the rest of my day.

I was, and kind of still am, a morning person. I’ve learned to train my brain to work from 7 PM until at least 10 PM.

Nonetheless, I wanted to do an evening routine to complement my morning routine, and so that I can come back to this months or years later and see how my routine has changed (or not, I don’t know yet).

6:00 PM

By 6:00 PM, I’d take a break from writing and spend about 15-30 minutes doing my nightly prayer, affirmations, and gratitude list.

Afterward, I’d continue working at least until 7:30 PM, and then prepare dinner for me and my friend. If I lose track of time and am not able to prepare dinner, we’d order our food when she comes home from work. Preparing and cooking dinner typically takes me anywhere between 5 minutes to 1.5 hours.

After cooking, and there’s extra time before my friend comes home, I’d either continue working or call it a night and watch some movies or TV shows.

Sometimes my eyes would get so tired and dry from staring at my screen for too long, so I’ve learned to fully put my laptop to the side, rest my eyes, and listen to music.

I’d then have dinner once my friend arrived, and we’d watch some horror or comedy movies while we ate.

After about 30 minutes to an hour, I’d wash up and prepare to sleep.

My bathroom routine consists of brushing my teeth and washing and soaping my face with any kind of bar soap. Then I’d wash just my body with my new favorite body wash, Aromatherapy Lavender Vanilla (Sleep). I’m telling you, this works like magic because I’d always feel sleepy after about 20 minutes of applying it.

Then I’d just get into my comfy pajamas and lay down. At this time, it would probably be around 10:30 PM – 11 PM. I’d watch some YouTube videos until the aromatherapy fully kicks in and knock me out.

And this was my post-graduate evening routine!

It isn’t too much as I live with six other people, and I don’t want to make too many loud noises and disturb them from their evening routines.

Hopefully, when I’m able to live on my own again, I’ll incorporate more activities into my evening routine. Possibly some self-care, meal prepping, and home organization and cleaning.

For now, I’m going to enjoy my relaxing evening routine and take advantage of taking things slow.

Keep being inspired and take care always,
